I have picked this review as it lies within my particular area of interest – mHealth. The term mHealth is short for “mobile health”, and it refers to the use of mobile technologies to support medical and public health practices. There are now 6.8 billion mobile phone subscriptions worldwide. The widespread availability of mobile technology is an exceptional opportunity to expand the use of mHealth to support the increasing number of patients with chronic conditions whom expected to benefit the greatest from mobile health tools. Even though mhealth field in the early stages, evidence for the impact of mHealth is mounting. This review is an example which provides healthcare providers with evidence regarding the use of mobile phone messaging to support patient self-management of long-term illness.
