Shared Decision Making resource centre: animated short

This short animation likens medical shared decision making to making important everyday decision making. It shows that just as we do our research and weigh our options while deciding on important social aspects, similarly making a medical decision involves the health team and the patient taking into account the options available, the consequences and the patient’s needs and values.
Student Opinion:
This is a simple yet effective tool that aptly depicts the main elements and concerns of medical shared decision making and can be well understood by the general public. I’d score it 4 out of 5.
